The mythological figure of the dragon in the countries of oriental culture, China, Japan, Korea for example, is a benign figure and symbolizes wisdom, power by warding off evil spirits and protecting the innocent, vital force and earthly fertility by controlling rain, rivers, seas and lakes.

The nature of the Dragon is essentially aquatic, one imagines it in the middle of clouds writhing because it wants to demonstrate its strength and vitality, not aggression. In China it is perceived as a playful and good animal and they believe that the rain is the result of the love fight between two dragons of the opposite sex!
